So what have we been up to through the winter?

As you will  have seen if you have braved the wet weather and been out on the course we have been busy working on the bunker remodelling on the 13th 14th and 18th holes of the Heath course and the 3rd and 5th of the Forest Course. The weather has been reasonably kind to us with only a few days being lost to the extreme wet weather. As well as the bunker construction we have undertaken repairs to some bunker edges around the course. The Autumn storms created a lot more work for us with several trees being blown over and uprooted and many boughs and branches breaking off, most of this work is complete with the exception of the 2 large silver birch trees adjacent to the 10th Tee. One of the largest trees to come down was the Willow beside the White 3rd Tee unfortunately this took down the overhead power line that supplies the pump shed that transfers water up into the reservoir. the tree has been cleared in readiness for the contractor to replace the cable returning power to the pump station, we will be going underground with the new cable to avoid more problems in the future.  We have a few more bunkers left to repair then the focus moves to the paths, those of you played at the weekend may have noticed we have installed a new path down the left hand side of the 13th carry. This is a great improvement, the slope on this side is much less severe and now with a new level surface is a much safer option to reach the fairway. Over the coming weeks you will see this type of path being installed at more locations around both courses.

Below are a few pictures Highlighting some of the work completed
